Introduction
This Privacy Policy describes how Word Snap ("the app", "we", "our") handles information when you use the application on your Android device.
Word Snap is a single-player offline word puzzle game developed by Saqibstudio (SC Appworks). We built it with a simple philosophy: your data belongs to you. We do not want it, we do not store it remotely, and we do not share it.

Information we collect
Word Snap does not collect, transmit, or store any personal information on external servers. The app functions entirely offline.
No account required
No sign-in or registration
No email address
No name or profile
No device identifiers
No location data
No analytics
No advertising IDs

Data stored locally on your device
The app saves the following information using Android DataStore — a local, on-device storage mechanism. This data never leaves your device.

Your daily game progress — current guesses and the row you are on
✓
Game state — whether today's puzzle is in progress, completed, or not yet started
✓
Statistics — games played, win percentage, current streak, best streak, and guess distribution
✓
Hint tokens — how many of your 3 daily hint tokens remain today
✓
Settings preferences — dark mode, colorblind mode, hard mode, and notification preference
✓
Tutorial completion flag — whether you have seen the how-to-play guide
All data above is stored in your device's private app storage. It is inaccessible to other apps and to us. If you uninstall Word Snap, this data is permanently deleted by the Android operating system.

What we do not do

We do not send any data to external servers or APIs

We do not use any analytics SDKs (Google Analytics, Firebase Analytics, Mixpanel, etc.)

We do not show advertisements and have no advertising SDK integrated

We do not sell, trade, or share your data with any third party

We do not track your usage behaviour or session duration

We do not use crash reporting services that transmit personal data

We do not perform any network request during normal gameplay

App permissions
Word Snap requests the following Android permissions. Here is exactly what each is used for — and what it is not used for.

POST_NOTIFICATIONS — used only to send the optional daily puzzle reminder at 8 AM. You can deny this permission or disable it at any time in Settings. No notification is ever sent without your explicit opt-in.

RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED — used to reschedule the daily notification after your device restarts. No data is read or transmitted during this process.
✓
SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM / USE_EXACT_ALARM — used by WorkManager to schedule the notification precisely at 8 AM local time. These permissions do not provide access to any personal data.
No other permissions are requested. The app does not request access to your camera, microphone, contacts, files, location, or any other sensitive system resource.

Notifications
If you grant notification permission, Word Snap may send one local notification per day at 8 AM reminding you that a new puzzle is ready. This notification is:

Generated entirely on your device — not triggered by any remote server
✓
Fully optional — you can disable it at any time in the app's Settings screen or in Android system settings
✓
Sent at most once per day — we never send marketing, promotional, or unsolicited notifications

Children's privacy
Word Snap does not collect personal data from anyone, including children under the age of 13. Because no data is collected or transmitted, the app is compliant with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and Google Play's Families Policy by design.
If you are a parent or guardian and have concerns about your child's use of the app, please contact us at the address below. Since no data is stored on our end, there is nothing to delete, but we are happy to answer any questions.

Deleting your data
Since all data is stored locally on your device, you can delete it at any time by either:

Uninstalling Word Snap — all local data is permanently deleted by Android
✓
Clearing app storage via Android Settings → Apps → Word Snap → Storage → Clear Data
There is no server-side data to request deletion of, because we never received any in the first place.

Third-party services
Word Snap uses the following Android platform components. These are system-level libraries and are subject to Google's own privacy policies.

Jetpack WorkManager — schedules the daily notification locally on-device. No data leaves the device.
✓
AndroidX DataStore — stores preferences locally on-device only.
✓
Google Play Services — present on all Android devices. We do not call any Play Services APIs beyond what the Android OS requires to install and run the app.
We do not integrate any third-party advertising networks, analytics platforms, social SDKs, or payment processors.

Changes to this policy
If we ever change how the app handles data — for example by adding optional cloud sync or an analytics opt-in in a future version — we will update this Privacy Policy before releasing that version and display an in-app notice on first launch after the update.
The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will always reflect the most recent revision. We encourage you to review this policy when you update the app.
